Past Research Experience: I worked in three labs prior to my Ph.D.: one looking at the genetic barrier of HIV to acquire resistance to integrase inhibitors; one characterizing the brain response to hypoxia in fetal chicks; and one identifying the role of adipose stem cells in breast cancer. My dissertation work investigated the effects of alcohol on the skeleton, both in mice and in an HIV-positive clinical cohort.
Current Research Interest: Mammalian tissue regeneration and autoimmune conditions
